A Vogue's Inspiration

Hello everybody,

I've created this blog a while ago but never posted anything! Lately I've been drawing and painting fashion illustrations so I figured — why not! — I'll post some on the blog.

This particular one is from a shot of a cover of "Vogue Belleza España", from the 2014 Spring Valentino Collection. I especially loved last year's Valentino's Spring Collection, that royal and baroque flair to it was simply genius — one does not associate does art concepts with Spring, but the result of the bold colors, prints and fabric was simply stunning. Add some fabulous oversized jewelry and voilá! — a stunning royal worthy collection.

This one didn't took I long time making, its basically just a sketch made with watercolor, color pencils (both Caran D'Ache) and a Staedtler black thin marker (0.2 mm). It took about 30-45 min to sketch.
